Hi there,
The primary difference between SpiceDB and Permit is that SpiceDB is based on Zanzibar, while Permit's approach is primarily policy-based.
Some of the benefits we see in a Zanzibar based system include:
- Significant flexibility when defining authorization logic
- The ability to handle Google scale workloads
- The ability to span across multiple data centers in order to provide low read latencies across several regions
- Caching mechanisms that balance performance and consistency
Are there any specific areas (e.g., performance, consistency) that you are interested in?
