we've been keeping tabs on the various developments. Aurora dSQL is the one that seems like it'd be the meaningful analogue to spanner, and therefore a replacement for running Cockroach for users on AWS: IIRC there was some reason that Global Database didn't fit the SpiceDB use case, but i'm having trouble calling it to mind right now. we'll be evaluating dSQL once we can get access to it.
